FAQ's at York Medical Clinic in York, NE
Why do I have to tell the receptionist the reason for my visit?
It is important to let the receptionist know a general reason why you want to be seen so enough time can be made for you on the provider schedule. Some reasons automatically require more time on the schedule. By knowing this, we can help reduce wait times for all patients. All information is confidential by reception staff as it is with clinical staff.
What is the quickest way to get my medications filled?
Calling your pharmacy first is quickest. They automatically know if refills are available and can obtain this information electronically from your physician for faster results.
Sometimes I can’t get a refill without having an appointment, why is this?
All medications have potential side effects, and many require lab monitoring to assure no long-term side effects. Good medical practice requires anyone with prescription medications be seen by their physician at minimum every 6-12 months. More frequent appointments may be needed depending on your situation.
I’m not depressed, why do I have to fill out that form every year?
Unfortunately, depression is common across all ages, and has a large effect on your overall health. Screening for depression is no different than screening for high blood pressure. It is now common medical practice across the nation to complete depression screenings for all patients 12 years of age or older.
Why do I have to bring my insurance card every time I come there?
It is important that we always have the most current insurance plan documented. We also need to check and make sure the insurance is active. Although some insurances do not change for years, others change month to month.
