Jillian Fickenscher, MD, MPH

Education/Residency:
Dr. Fickenscher attended Hastings College where she graduated with High Distinction, with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Spanish. From there, she graduated with a dual-degree Medical Doctorate and Masters in Public Health (MD, MPH) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Her MPH concentration area of study was in Community Oriented Primary Care. From there, she was accepted into UNMC’s Advanced Rural Training Program for Family Medicine residency, which provided outstanding training for caring for all ages, including clinic, hospital, and emergency care, clinical and women’s health procedures, and obstetrics including cesarean sections.

Family Medicine: 
She enjoys caring for patients of all ages but especially likes taking care of women and young families. She loves seeing and getting to know patients through their pregnancy care, delivering their babies, and then helping to care for them as they grow. It truly is a special relationship. She also speaks Spanish conversationally, and appreciates when patients and families allow her to practice this language with them.

About:
She maintains her interest in public health by volunteering within the school and community, and is now the Board Physician for the Four Corners Health Department Board of Health. She also serves on Nebraska’s Department of Health and Human Services Maternal Mortality Review Committee which ultimately works to make recommendations to share with partners in our state working on reducing poor health outcomes in mothers, to ensure we are doing everything we can to prevent those.

Dr. Fickenscher is a native of Benedict, Nebraska and graduated from Cross County High school. She and her husband, Dr. Brady Fickenscher, have two children who are the lights of their life. She enjoys spending time her family, playing with her kids, and traveling together. She likes to read and has always enjoyed music and dance as well.

At York Medical Clinic: 
Jillian Fickenscher, MD, MPH has been practicing at the York Medical Clinic since graduation from residency, and started seeing patients in January of 2017.
