Front Dest Receptionist

Job Summary: 
A medical receptionist is to exceed patient expectations for outstanding service while producing a warm and caring environment. Receptionists are key players who are responsible for creating a good first and last impression of our clinic to all current and new patients. The receptionist performs a variety of patient services and administrative duties to ensure that patients receive top-quality service. Responsibilities include

Specific Duties -Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Greets every patient, whether in the facility or on the phone, in a friendly and professional manner
  • Documents, verifies and updates demographics accurately, this includes insurance changes
  • Directs calls and messages to the appropriate recipient
  • Schedule, cancel, confirm and reschedule appointments
  • Collects appropriate fees, including co-pays, co-insurances and past due balances
  • Manages time on the clock appropriately
  • Keeping front lobby clean and sanitized
  • Restocking supplies and paperwork
  • Sorting Route sheets
  • Adhere to HIPAA compliance

Essential Abilities:
  • Good reading and comprehensive skills
  • Excellent keyboarding skills with basic knowledge of office equipment
  • General understanding of health insurance coverage
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others
  • Must be accurate and precise in their work
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of all organization and patient information

Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Cash handling experience
  • Computer skills
